In February 2002, Perfect Converter Company was established by founders Rick Sigman and Bubba Rafferty, who brought with them two decades of expertise in engine building, transmission repair, and torque converter remanufacturing. Recognizing an opportunity in the market, we initially focused on providing top-quality OEM converters to local transmission repair shops. Rapidly expanding our reach, we became trusted suppliers to premier automotive and fleet transmission facilities, solidifying our reputation as the go-to converter remanufacturers.
By 2004, our name had made its way to the racing community, leading us to specialize in re-stalling and refreshing drag racing converters. Understanding the unique needs of racers, we aimed to deliver a product that combined reliability with the personalized touch only a local shop could offer. As bracket racing speeds increased, so did our expertise in custom torque converter building.
Throughout the mid-2010s, our business model thrived in both the OEM and performance markets, establishing us as a regional name. In 2014, our involvement in racing expanded further as we sponsored a heads-up/index race series, gaining recognition in both index and heads-up classes.
About Us
In 2019, tragedy struck with the unexpected loss of co-founder Rick Sigman. Undeterred, his son, Logan Sigman, joined the company full time, bringing fresh ideas and a passion for performance diesel products and high-performance transmissions. Logan's background as a graduate of an automotive vocational program and years as a lead mechanic in a local shop, coupled with his racing experience, further enhanced our commitment to delivering quality products and services.
Today, operating under the evolved brand ".501 Performance," we are fully immersed in the racing industry. Our dedication to durability and consistency rests on the foundation of meticulous craftsmanship and the use of top-tier parts. As we conduct business full time, .501 Performance continues to be a prominent name in the racing community.
